1. What STRIDE?
STRIDE is a department under the Ministry of Defense is working to provide technical support and scientific expertise to the Ministry of Defence.
2. What services are provided by the STRIDE?
Technical services provided by STRIDE are as follows:
a) manage and conduct research and development (R & D)
b) Help to develop and verify the defense procurement specifications.
c) technical evaluation of defense procurement.
d) Conduct operational research and providing advisory services in the development of defense capabilities.
e) To conduct a failure analysis of components, materials and equipment.
f) testing, measurement and inspection laboratory and field.
g) Technical Consultation.
h) Calibration and measurement accuracy.
3. Are other ministries or private companies can use STRIDE?
Yes, all the ministries / departments can use the STRIDE services. Private companies can also use the STRIDE services but will be charged at the rate specified.
4. Specification of how the equipment should get a confirmation from the STRIDE?
All specifications of the Ministry of Defence procurement (except for ICT and medical items) to get confirmation from the STRIDE before being sent to the Procurement Division.
5. How do procedure approved specifications of the STRIDE?
a) Submit to the procurement specifications of Research & Strategic Studies, STRIDE.
b) Screening & Authentication Specification Meeting will be held later with the user.
6. How long will the verification process specifications will be obtained?
Normally takes four weeks to confirm the specification.
7. How long is the validity of a specification?
The validity period of a different specification according to the type of items as follows:
a) Two (2) TahunAll equipment / systems / materials related to:
i) Electronic Test Equipment
ii) Electronic Communication
iii) Electro-opticali
v) Electronic Surveillance and Electronic Warfare
vi) Navigation systems and electronic simulation
vii) training simulation system (not wholly electronic or mechanical hardware)
b) Three (3) TahunAll equipment / systems / materials related to:
i) Small Arms and ammunition
ii) Ordnance
iii) Weapons Platforms
iv) Personal Protection Armour
v) Personal Protection (excluding armor)
vi) Mechanical and electro-mechanical small
c) Five (5) TahunAll equipment / systems / materials related to:
i) Land Vehicle
ii) Aerospace Vehicle Systems and Supporting
iii) Vehicle Navigation Systems and Supporting
iv) Textiles and clothing
v) Food and rationv
vi) Personal and consumer
vii) Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants
viii) General Chemicals
